She was ever a sports fan and in later years never missed a broadcast of the Brewers, Bucks, Packers, Badgers and Golden Eagles. Rita kept detailed and fascinating journals of their many trips. Rita and Lorin traveled widely and often in the U.S., Canada and Europe and spent each summer together in Solon Springs, Wisconsin, where Lorin was born. For many years, Rita and Lorin tutored young people through what was then St. After her children were grown, Rita became a “regular” substitute teacher at both Lumen Christi Grade School and Homestead High School. She was an active volunteer for both church and school during her entire life. James Grade School, now Lumen Christi, in the early 1960s. Rita was a key member of the committee that helped launch St. Her warm smile and generous spirit led to many lifelong friendships. She will be remembered as a smart, determined, energetic and gracious woman, who was always willing to help. And Rita loved Ireland-its people, its history and its influence on her family. She worked tirelessly to support the activities of her children and loved nothing more than encouraging them and her grandchildren in their pursuits. She was an exceptionally creative homemaker who shared her many skills with her children and grandchildren. Rita built her life around her family, friends and faith. Rita and Lorin settled first in Milwaukee and moved to Mequon in 1957. Rita married Lorin Lucius in 1949, and the couple spent 60 years devoted to each other until Lorin’s death in 2009. She taught Home Economics in three Wisconsin cities: Arcadia, West Bend and Fox Point. She graduated from Lodi High School and Stout State College (now the University of Wisconsin–Stout). #LUMEN CHRISTI MEQUON SPORTS LICENSE#Rita grew up in Lodi, Wisconsin, where she earned her driver’s license promptly on her 16 th birthday to take her turn driving the milk truck for the family farm and dairy business. She was born in West Point Township, Wisconsin, on July 17, 1924, the daughter of Eugene and Mae (Horkan) Ryan. Lucius, cherished wife, mother and grandmother, entered into Eternal Life on May 23, 2021, at the age of 96. Mequon Road at the corner of Range Line Road in Mequon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 12, at 11:00 AM at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2700 W. Visitation will take place on Monday, May 11, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home. All who knew Dennis will forever miss his magnificent smile, and that memory is one we will all treasure. Above all he had a true and dedicated love for his daughters, that love will forever be unsurpassed. Dennis embraced life with open arms and without ever missing a beat! He enjoyed all sports and was a true backer to his teams but his passion was always playing a good round of golf with family and friends. He spent many years active in the food and beverage industry. Dennis was a graduate of Dominican High School. Further survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and great friends. Cherished brother of Ellen (Greg) Cernjar, Patrick (Val), Dan (Pattie), Tim (Kathy), Mike, and Mary (Tom) Winslow.
